Cheers to Celebrations: A Giveaway from Wendy Wax

Thirty-three years ago today my husband John and I said ‘I do.’

On our wedding day, my new father-in-law informed us that the first forty years are the most difficult.

At the time, forty years seemed ridiculously far off, but given that my in-laws had already passed the forty year mark, I should have realized this was not necessarily a joke, but a warning.

Over the last thirty-three years we’ve experienced our share of good times and bad, sickness and health. We’ve also brought two awesome human beings into the world. (I’ve also ‘birthed’ fifteen novels and two novellas.)

Somehow, while raising children and writing books, I’ve become one of those people who isn’t sure where the years have gone even as I feel their weight.

It seems fitting that as we celebrate our thirty-third anniversary, I have a brand-new book about to come into the world. One that was inspired by a wedding dress worn by generations of my family’s brides and by the portrait of my aunt in it that always hung above my grandmother’s bed.

MY EX-BEST FRIEND’S WEDDING is a story of family, friendship, and forgiveness. Like all of my novels, it deals with serious subjects gift wrapped in humor.

My Ex-Best Friend's Wedding

I plan to enjoy a glass or two of champagne tonight. After all, we only have seven more years to go!

I hope you’ll check out this excerpt of MY EX-BEST FRIEND’S WEDDING (It can be consumed with or without champagne.)

If you enjoy it (the excerpt not the champagne) you can preorder here.

And since my publisher and I believe that anniversaries should be celebrated with gifts, you can enter for a chance to win a copy here.

I’ll be on tour through most of May and would love to see you at an event!

If you can’t make it to an appearance you can order signed copies from these independent booksellers: Bookmiser and FoxTale Book Shoppe.

Yes, autographed books make great gifts!
